Chipper blade
In the wood processing and biomass utilization industry, the Chipper blade is the core wear part that converts logs, branches, and veneer into industrial wood chips. A quality Chipper blade must balance high hardness with excellent impact toughness,typically forged from alloy tool steels such as 9CrSi, 6CrW2Si, or SKD11, and hardened through vacuum quenching and multiple tempering to achieve HRC55–62, ensuring long-lasting sharpness while resisting chipping from sand and knots in the wood.

Structurally, the Chipper blade comes in two main types: disc blades mounted on a rotating disc, ideal for log cutting with high chip quality for pulp and paper production; and drum blades mounted on a cylindrical drum, offering broader adaptability for veneer, branches, and various wood species. Most blades feature single or reversible double-edged designs, allowing individual replacement or resharpening without disassembling the entire machine,drastically reducing downtime.

In practice, the Chipper blade serves a wide range of applications: particleboard and MDF manufacturing, pulp and paper production, biomass power generation, landscaping, and agricultural straw processing.
